Genius roadworks

I had to drive down the coast tonight after work. The highway is busy every evening with workers leaving the city to go home and the traffic doesn’t generally free up until about 7.30pm. On Fridays it’s a lot worse due to people not only going home from work but also heading down the coast for the weekend. So one would think that Friday evenings aren’t an ideal time for roadworks to be carried out. Some genius at the transport department obviously thinks differently and decided that lawn mowing on the nature strips was super urgent. So there are workers mowing and they close down 3 of the 4 lanes. I left the city at 7pm for what should be an hours trip. 2 hours later I’m just over half way there and haven’t moved for half an hour due to the nature strip maintenance. this is the scene leading up to 4 lanes into a bottle neck of 1 lane.

Expedition Truck Pod

Well the accommodation pod is under way. I’ve started setting out the floorplan for the unit. It will be 4m long x 2.4m wide x 2m high.
I have some nice high quality yacht porthole windows which I will probably use around the pod similar to this.

I’ve sketched out a rough floorplan below.
The bathroom is at the front of the unit with a side access door into it so if I’m dirt or sandy I can step straight into a shower. The rear door will be a big lift up item supported by gas struts which will create an awning and allow the entire rear to have an open air feel.

Brisbane wildlife

I was walking down the footpath tonight and almost walked into a low hanging branch. It was hanging lower than normal due to possum sitting on the end. He was a little ring tail having a munch on the seed pods. He didn’t seemed bothered by me at all so I took a short video with my ipad.

Cutty’s Day

I’ve been really struggling with work lately and needed a day to just relax and do nothing. Poor Cutty is bored stiff. She sits in the office all day and long gone are the days we used to run and play in the park. Hopefully when my shoulder is sorted those days will return. For now though, the best I can do for Cutty is a morning at the dog park and hanging out at New Farm Park while I do some research on my Ipad. She is a good dog and loves to watch the goings on in the park.
